Gamestar Inside Track
If you’ve found this web page, then you’ve gotten a hold of an issue of Gamestar magazine. Not only that, you’ve liked it enough to try out a trial subscription. Well, cool, thanks, welcome aboard, glad to have you! What you may not realize (though you will in a second) is that when you subscribe to Gamestar, you’re not just getting a subscription to a magazine and a CD-ROM—you’re also getting exclusive access to our special little web site, Gamestar.com.
Now, before you get any ideas, this site isn’t meant to be just another giant, archival Video Game Library of Congress—we’ve got enough of those out there already. Instead, think of it as a complement to the magazine and CD, the third piece of the Gamestar Triforce, where you’ll find brand-new features that expand upon articles you’ve seen in print (The Savage Se7en, our brief peek at seven games that held the video-game violence spotlight), interviews with bands you listened to on the Gamestar CD (Umphrey’s McGee), and stuff we just think is kinda cool (like developer commentary with our NCAA March Madness 2005 video preview or, for the sadists, our Sims 2 Torturer’s Guide).
The stuff you see here today is really just a stepping stone—over the next few weeks, we’ll be evolving it further and populating it with more special features and other top-secret documents that our nation’s enemies would just love to get a hold of. In the meantime, please let us know what you think, what you like, what you hate, and what kind of stuff you’d like to see in the future. We’re listening, we swear! And check back in with the Inside Track every now and then, too—we’ll have plenty of updates and things to brag about (like we got to play through Halo 2, nyah nyah!).
